C'est déjà arrivé une étape avec un col aussi dur à froid (15km à quasi 9%) ?

L'étape de l'Alpe d'Huez en 2011 remportée par Pierre Rolland. Départ à froid avec le Galibier (ok yavait 10km de plat avant et le %age moyen est plus faible, mais c'est un dénivelé plus important d'un coup. Ya match !

Surtout qu'on avait eu du spectacle !

A posteriori on se dit qu'ils auraient mieux fait d'annuler ou raboter l'étape de mercredi... là les coureurs qui voulaient pas la faire pouvaient se cacher derrière le fait qu'on leur fait vivre 3 jours d'enfer sans pause (sic)

Au final, avec le grand saint bernard qui était raboté, je suis presque plus emballé par ce format et ce départ à froid.
Ineos doivent pas être serein, ça va être assez difficile de contrôler le début de course

Difficile a contrôlé pas vraiment vu le niveau des equipiers mais ça va les obliger de faire un rythme élevé des le début, et d'user les organismes pour la suite de la course.

Les coureurs voulaient annuler la Croix de Coeur mais l'orga a dit non, donc ils ont décidé de raccourcir l'étape en compromis

To provide clarity from the riders' perspective, the weather conditions experienced during this year's Giro have been among the most intense. In response, the riders held a vote last night to invoke the extreme weather protocol. According to the regulations, which outline freezing rain as point 1 and extreme temperatures as point 4 during certain parts of today's route, the riders agreed to vote. If the majority surpassed 80%, the remaining riders would follow and respect the majority decision, which implementing the extreme weather protocol and executing point 3: "change of route."

The voting process was conducted anonymously, with over 90% of the riders in favour. I and the @cpacycling
support their decision.

If anyone disagrees with their choice, I will wear the cost. So send your criticism at me, not the riders. The riders are the heroes of this sport, and I believe they should focus solely on their racing rather than being subjected to negative remarks.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the @giroditalia
organization for recognizing the need for change and understanding the riders' perspective. The extreme weather conditions experienced this year are beyond anyone's control, and the riders are grateful for the support of the RCS, volunteers, and fans. They will do their best to put on a show for the world to watch!

Etonnant de constater que les 10 premiers du général sont de 10 nationalités différentes . Rarissime , non ?

C'est dommage cette décision de dernière minute. La dernière minute ne devrait s'imposer qu'à cause des aléas météo, et aujourd'hui ce n'est pas la météo effective qui semble avoir motivé la décision du peloton, mais l'etat de fatigue général!

Si la décision de zapper le Grand Saint Bernard avait été prise plus tôt, on aurait eu le temps d'organiser un plan B plus attractif. Départ de Martigny sur l'un des grands parkings en périphérie, montée de Champex par les gorges du Durnand, puis Croix de Coeur.

Là c'est de la dernière minute qui mécontente tout le monde...
